By using GrocerEase ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App. These terms may be updated from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
GrocerEase is a grocery shopping and meal planning application designed for New Zealand grocery shopping. The App helps New Zealand users plan meals, build shopping lists, compare available local price observations and scan grocery receipts. Some community and local-business features may be introduced or changed over time.

Users may submit various types of content including prices, deals, recipes, store information, photos, and reviews. By submitting content, you:
Feature Description: The receipt scanning feature uses AI technology to extract product names, prices, and store information from uploaded receipt photos.
Data Usage: Receipt scanning is optional, but when you choose to scan a grocery receipt the extracted non-personal shopping facts are part of GrocerEase's community price contribution model. They may be used to:
What stays private: Your receipt image and account identity are not published with community prices. You can review and correct extracted shopping facts before they are saved.
New Zealand locations only: Receipt-derived community price observations are intended for New Zealand stores. If a receipt is read as an overseas location, GrocerEase may clear or reject that location and require correction before the price facts can be used.
Private imports: You can photograph or upload a recipe for extraction into My Recipes. The imported source image is private unless you deliberately submit or share the recipe.
Shared library submissions: Recipes submitted to the GrocerEaseNZ Library are held for review and are not published automatically.
Rights to share: You must only submit material to the shared library when you created it or have permission or another lawful right to publish it. Naming or crediting a source does not by itself give permission to republish protected text or images.
Private recipe sharing: Sharing a private My Recipe creates a separate shareable snapshot. The original private recipe record remains private.
Price Accuracy: Prices, deals, and basket estimates shown in the App are planning references only. Where available, the App may show labels such as “Price supplied by retailer,” “Last updated,” or similar source notes. Actual prices may vary by store, region, timing, stock, promotions, substitutions, and checkout conditions. Final pricing is determined by the retailer at the time of purchase.
Recipe Safety: Users are responsible for food safety when following recipes. Check ingredient freshness and follow proper food handling procedures.
Recipe information: Recipe instructions, dietary tags and nutritional information may contain errors or estimates. Users are responsible for checking ingredients, allergens, dietary suitability and food safety.
The App, including its design, features, algorithms, and original content, is owned by GrocerEase and protected by intellectual property laws. The "Made in New Zealand" fern icon and related branding elements are used to support local New Zealand businesses and products. Users may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App without written permission.
GrocerEase may continue to evolve over time. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice, and occasional bugs or downtime may occur while the service improves.
We reserve the right to:
GrocerEase is provided "as is" without warranties. Price comparisons and savings calculations are planning tools based on available data and may not match checkout prices. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the App, including financial losses from pricing errors, food safety issues from recipes, or problems arising from community-contributed content. Your use of the App is at your own risk.
We may terminate or suspend access to the App where reasonably necessary, including for serious or repeated breaches of these terms. Users can request account or personal-data deletion through Feedback or support@inaohgroup.nz. These Terms may continue to apply to previously submitted shared content, and some records may be retained where reasonably required for legal, security or operational purposes.
These Terms of Service are governed by New Zealand law. Any disputes will be resolved in New Zealand courts. If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
GrocerEaseNZ may use feedback and de-identified operational information internally to understand reliability and improve the service.
We do not sell personal information or private household records, and the current Beta does not rely on hidden advertising trackers or behavioural advertising.
If GrocerEaseNZ later proposes a materially different analytics or external data-sharing use, it will be described transparently in the current Privacy Policy before that use begins.
